The intellect has no object to "analysing" the unconscious as a passive object; on the contrary such an activity would coincide with our rational expectations. But to let the unconscious go its own way and to experience it as a reality is something beyond the courage and capacity of the average European (or American). He prefers to simply not understand this problem. For spiritually week-kneed this is the better course, since the thing is not without dangers.
